We also found out that the subsequent effects of this disaster will be so cataclysmic that all people--both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond--will feel a need to receive the mark of the beast as a means of safety. They will voluntarily, meaning without force, receive this mark in their right hand or in their foreheads. In this article, we shall continue to unveil the meaning of Revelation 13:16, which reads: "And he [the beast] causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:" In accordance with this Scripture, our next word to decode is "receive." The Thorndike Barnhart Junior Dictionary, copyright 1997, on page 718, denotes that to receive is "to take something offered." Offered is characterized in Encarta World English Dictionary, copyright 1999, on page 1254, as "to attempt to give somebody something that can be taken or refused." Considering all of our definitions thus far, we can affirm that the beast [the President of the United States] will attempt to give all--both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond--a "mark" that they may either take or refuse, in their right hand or in their foreheads. However, in the Book of Revelation, Chapters 16:2 and 14:11, we are given a true illustration of the grave consequences that shall fall upon all--both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond--who choose to take this mark, and it reads: "?and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast?" "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name." From these Scriptures, we can confirm assuredly that those who choose to take the mark of the beast in their right hand or in their foreheads, upon them shall fall the vial of a noisome and grievous sore. Not only that, but they shall also be tormented, and have no rest day nor night. Our next word to define is "mark." The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Greek Dictionary, copyright 1990, on page 77, translates the Greek word for mark as charagma (G5480), pronounced khar'-ag-mah, and it means "a etching, i.e. stamp (as of a badge of servitude)." Webster's Universal College Dictionary, copyright 1997, on page 498, delineates that the word etching is "the process of producing designs on plates of metal, by the action of acid." It is rather apparent from this validation that the "mark" of the beast will be designs produced on plates of metal, by the action of acid. Design, substantiated in Thorndike Barnhart Junior Dictionary, copyright 1997, on page 237, is "patterns." The Oxford Pocket Dictionary and Thesaurus, American Edition, copyright 1997, on page 579, describes the word pattern as a "device." Therefore, this irrefutable evidence authenticates that the "mark" is devices that will be put on plates of metal, by the action of acid. In the same reference source, on page 604, plate is "a piece of metal with a name or inscription..." Even more, this documentation proves that the mark is devices on pieces of metal with a name or inscription produced by the action of acid. The Synonym Finder, by J. I. Rodale, copyright 1978, on page 18, attests to the fact that acid is something that is "corrosive; eating away, and wasting." Hence, we can conclude with absolute certainty why those who receive the mark will be plagued with a grievous and noisome sore and why they will be tormented and have no rest day nor night; it is because the acid from the devices on the pieces of metal with an inscription, which they have received in their right hand or in their foreheads, will become corrosive, and thereby cause an eating away and wasting of their bodies.
